At 7 p.m. the Foothills Arts Council's Art in the Garden series celebrates National Poetry Month with "Poetry to the People". This is part of the Art in the Garden series and free admission. There will be poetry readings featuring "the next generation" student poets, award-winning poet Joe Mills of UNC School of the Arts, live music with folk singer Randy Fulk, refreshments and Dobbins Creek Vineyard on hand for pouring. For more information call the FAC at (336) 835-2025.

We’ll be planning the 2014 Elkin Fiddlers Convention as well. Join us that evening at The Liberty from 7-10:30pm for Contra and square dancing. 53rd Annual Community Chorus. Performances at 4 pm and 7 pm. Join approximately 100 singers from around the Yadkin Valley for a 1-hour performance of beautiful holiday songs. Free to the public. This year it will be at First United Methodist Church of Elkin, at 340 Hawthorn Rd.
